Terms of use
These terms govern the use of ScamSam at https://scamsam.grgmyr.com and submissions to scamsam@grgmyr.com. The operator is the sole trader named in the legal notice. Submitting a message or creating an account accepts these terms.
1. What the service does
ScamSam reads a submitted message and assesses it, with the help of AI language models, for signs of scams and phishing. The result is one of four words — scam, suspicious, legitimate, unclear — with reasons and one piece of advice.
2. A verdict is an assessment, not a guarantee
The assessment works with AI models and is not error-free. A "legitimate" does not make a message safe, and a "scam" is not a statement of fact about any particular person or company. The service replaces neither legal advice, nor financial advice, nor your own caution. Decisions — paying, replying, clicking, reporting — remain your own. No particular accuracy is promised.
3. Accounts and limits
Without an account the service can be tried under a daily limit. An account needs a valid email address and a password; the address is verified, and checking by mail opens only after that. Keep your credentials secret. Checks per day, message length and a monthly cost budget are limited; the operator may adjust limits and the models on offer, and may suspend accounts that break these terms. There is no entitlement to any particular model or to uninterrupted availability.
4. What you submit
Submitted messages are processed only to produce the verdict and are not stored — details in the privacy policy. Submit only what you may: no content you are barred from passing on, and no personal data of third parties beyond what checking the message requires.
5. What is not allowed
- Using the service automatically beyond the configured limits, or circumventing those limits.
- Circumventing security measures, or reaching other people's accounts or results.
- Submitting malware or unlawful content beyond the material to be checked.
- Loading the service so heavily that others cannot use it.
- Publishing the service's verdicts as supposed findings of fact about third parties.
6. Liability
The service is provided as it stands. To the extent the law allows, the operator is liable only for intent and gross negligence; liability for slight negligence, for lost profit, and for damage arising from decisions based on a verdict of this service is excluded. Mandatory statutory liability — for personal injury, for instance — is unaffected.
7. Changes and governing law
The operator may change these terms; the version in force is the one on this page. Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules; mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
